Photographs of lamps, [ca. 1920-ca. 1929].

Consists of thirty-five photographs featuring lamps. Oriental ceramics make up the bodies of these lighting fixtures. The selling price, dimensions, and, in most cases, a description of the item appears on the back of each photograph. The lamps were sold in New York City, but the dealer is not known. The names of the photographers are stamped on the back of the photographs; most were taken by Carl Klein and a few were taken by the Brown Brothers.

From 1868 William, Henry and Adam Brown occupied Buckholm Corn Mill. Adam retired in 1875, William and Henry died in 1883 and 1885 respectively, and control was passed to William's sons. Buckholm Corn Mill was said to be the first mill in Galashiels to be lit by electricity in 1884. Messrs. Brown Brothers was formed into a limited company in or about 1928, the Directors being A.
